The reason that it will not install is that you have a newer release 5. The update unfortunately keeps trying because it thinks version 5. The error indicates that the download is corrupt, but further investigation will show that it can't install because of the newer release. Uninstalling the newer versions doesn't work either I tried In order to hide the update, download the Microsoft's Show Hide utility wushowhide.

I wouldn't say this app is "totally worthless". Using it for what it was created for, accessing workstations on a LAN, it is great. You can fast-switch between workstations, control the environment, and it saves your credentials making it easy to switch between accounts.
